Our Story

The Culture of Life Apostolate is a non-profit organisation that was established in 2012 to promote and protect human life in all its forms from inception to natural death. Our mission focuses on pregnancy crisis assistance. We have several initiatives that we embark on to ensure this occurs by creating a safe and caring environment for women so that they can bring their babies safely into the world to love and cherish.

We do this by helping to look after a pregnant woman’s physical needs as well as their spiritual and emotional needs, providing holistic direction and counselling, as well as recreational activities and skills development to hone their creative and entrepreneurial traits and learn how to become self-sufficient..

We are highly reliant on donors and fundraising efforts to help run our mission.

Aims of Culture of Life Apostolate

Promote awareness and education about abortion and it’s many concerning effects it has on women and direct to help.

Provide another option for women who choose not to abort but need the support and counselling to keep their baby

Collaborate with like-minded people to coordinate our collective efforts to eventually put an end to abortion being used as a solution to remedy social ills that corner women into this painful decision.

Offer support for those who suffer the painful effects of post abortion trauma

Divine Mercy Pregnancy Crisis Home

The Divine Mercy House offers stressed and traumatised pregnant mothers, who would otherwise terminate their pregnancy, with the emotional, spiritual and material support necessary.

In a supportive environment the House provides the opportunity to choose and embrace new life for both the mothers and their newborn children.

Our aim is to empower these women/mother’s and thereby promote their overall well-being.

The Divine Mercy House offers all mothers a stay that is life-giving and fruitful and that leaves the mothers with a more meaningful and positive perspective on living life.

Should mothers choose not to care for their newborn, they will be linked to children’s homes, foster agencies and adoption societies, thereby ensuring that the new life be brought up in a world free from abuse.

The Divine Mercy House will provide:

  • Food and shelter to the mothers in distress.
  • Professional support services such as social work and counselling
  • Skills training
  • Spiritual nourishment
  • Admission Criteria

Culture of Life Apostolate, mother shelter, will take in pregnant mothers who:

  • are victims of physical, sexual or emotional abuse
  • are victims of abandonment, physical and emotional neglect
  • are destitute

History of the Divine Mercy House

This pregnancy crisis home also established in 2012, is loaned to us by the Ferreira family. This was their family home and they now graciously allow us to use it for this necessary cause.

The House offers stressed and traumatised pregnant mothers, who would otherwise terminate their pregnancy, with the emotional, spiritual and material support necessary.

In a supportive environment this shelter will provide the opportunity to choose and embrace new life for both the mothers and their newborn children.

“I have come that they may have life, and have it in all its fullness.”

John 10:10

Arriving at the House

Google led me to the Divine Mercy House, and I have been here for 3-weeks now. It has been a warm experience and calming just to know that there are still good people and places around when all else feels hopeless. Thank God! Amen.

Sister Justine and Sister Michelin welcomed me, and I met three more ladies already in the home with a new lady arriving a week after me, a young girl who is studying. We are all already family.
